HEI's Six Customer Types - Infographic Series

Task: create print guides in support of the relaunch of HEI Hotels & Resorts' sales enablement training series.
We had a strict deadline and limited design software resources, so these were made using graphic collateral (made by myself and another in-house graphic designer) and assembled in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Solution: I designed a series of 6 coordinated infographics for HEI’s Sales and Revenue Management teams to explain the differences in strategies that are necessary for customers with different buying habits.
These were designed to work for both print and web, so associates could either save the files on their desktop or print and keep them on hand for easy reference. This allowed us to both address alternative learning styles that did not work well with video learning, and allow associates quick and easy access to the strategies that would lead their property to success.
Result: The VP of Sales and Revenue Management requested these guides be printed as posters and hung in the Sales office of each of the company's 75 hotels across the country.
What I Learned
- How to create documents that look good on a computer as well as in print.
- The basics of Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Publisher - we ultimately used Word for these because that was what the rest of the team was most comfortable with, but I also created versions in ID and Publisher as a learning exercise.
- The complexity of using both raster and vector graphics; while all of the assets I created were vectors, existing materials that were made by previous team members were not. It was challenging to create consistent imagery using both types of graphics, and to ensure that the quality remained high in the final product.
